Tiger Woods is way behind 10 shots from Phil Mickelson who is ahead by two. Mickelson wound up with a 6-under 66 and chipped another birdie.>
Mickelson took the lead in the CA Championship last Friday which placed him at the last group after three years. The competition is held at Doral Resort. Woods defeated Mickelson four years ago at the same resort. It was remembered as an electric final round because it came close to a one last shot. After a year, they met in the last group again in the 2006 third round where Woods won over Mickelson.
The recent game surprisingly overpowered Woods. He seemed to be just like any ordinary player. He was struggling with his distance control leaving his shots either too short or too long. His performance resulted to a few chances for the birdies. Although, Woods made some effort which gave him a 70- a better record compared to the day before.
When he was in the World Golf Championships, Mickelson was reportedly disappointed when he could not play face to face with Woods who was then at 3-under 141 and made a tie for the 35th in the 80-man field.
This time, Mickelson was at 13 under 131 and will have to play on Saturday against Nick Watney who shot at 67. Mickelson hopes that he can shoot a good round so he will be able to have a better chance on Sunday.
