The announcement was made by the PGA Tour on Monday.
The pairing of Woods and McIlroy will take on Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth. The event is set to start on December 10 in Florida at the Pelican Golf Club.
This is the first time that Woods will play publicly since he failed to make the cut at The British Open back in July. He has only played thrice on the tour since his car crash back in 2021.
It is not yet known if he will play in the Hero World Challenge which will also be played next month. However, he is expected to play in the PNC Championship alongside his son Charlie.
This year marks the third time that Woods has played in The Match. He was in the inaugural event and went head-to-head with Phil Mickelson.
McIlroy, Spieth, and Thomas, on the other hand, will be making their debuts.
McIlroy is riding a high and is coming off his win at The CJ Cup. The win launched him back to the top of the Official World Golf Rankings and he currently leads the DP World Tour standings.
Spieth has 13 tour wins over his career and most recently, he was last years RBC Heritage champion. He appeared only once on Tour this season and it was in South Carolina where he finished T52.
Thomas has 15 tour wins, including last years PGA Championship.
