If anyone is interested, I was a young High School basketball player in Anderson Indiana when the Packers were there. It is hard to believe now that I got to see all of the great players of the day. George Mikan and Pollard were the two biggest at the time. I am not sure, but I think the original Wigwam that they played in could only seat two or three thousand fans. My favorite player with the Packers was Frankie Brian. He started playing ball the way they do today. John Hargis had such a flat one handed shot you were sure it wouldn't go in, but it did. He was the one who I imitated as I was shaping my game. Charlie Shipp was still playing at that time and he was one of the last of the two handed place shooters. No one believes me when I tell them that I got to go to all of those NBA games, but it happened. The two big differences that I see were that they had to dribble from the top of the ball, and those old guys would fight at the drop of a hat.
