What made you into a Celtics fan?

Well, I think this is a pretty good little discussion!The Celtics have a huge and very loyal following, but how did we all get into them in the first place? Although I didn't grow up in Boston, or anywhere near there...I still grew up as a fan, because most of my family is! I'd regularly(and still do!) watch them on T.V(but never did see a game in person sadly), and I always had a strong admiration for Larry Bird. Hell, he's probably my favorite player for any team, even now! So what about the rest of you? What made YOU a Celtics fan?

Although they aren't my favorite team, i've always enjoyed watching the Celtics play. The passion the team and fans have is matched by few others.Hopefully in due time, they'll be top contenders again.

Honestly, the name was what originally got me into them. Bit nerdy, I know, but at the time, I was really into the Braveheart thing.
