Is Cristiano the best footballer in the world?

One of the great things about sports is that you can sit and argue about who the best is or who the greatest was all day long. I love to watch skilled player play their game. I with Rooney on this one but... what do I know?

If he is not the very top person on the list, he is well in the top 5 or at least the top 10. I dont see how many others can compete as well as he does.

He definitely kicked butt in the West Ham game. Although they pulled him with 25 minutes left in the game, which upset him a bit, he had made his mark and they won the game.

No two ways about it, Cristiano definitely belongs in the elite list of players. I think he needs a little more time to distinguish himself to definitively qualify him as THE best.

He's been anointed by Rooney as the best footballer England has ever seen. However many others are saying that he's currently the best in th world. What say you?

Whilst I'd agree that Ronaldo is very good and way up there in the ratings, I think the talents out there are not so far apart to make him stand out sufficiently as the BEST of the BEST. Maaybe he is the best in England, it's not as cut and dry in the world standings.

He's a great player, but I wouldn't consider him the best. There are other players I'd rather see, but, like a poster above mentioned, I would probably but him in the top 5 category.

Elite yes, but I wouldn't say the best in the world. If he keeps this performance up for another five years then maybe, but till then I'm not crowning him.

If Ronaldo is not the absolute greatest, I would argue that he has to at least be in the top three active players. Of course some would even argue that, but NOBODY should be able to argue that he's not in the top ten at the very least.
