Brute force

Rooney lives on his brute force and speed alone. It makes him strong and fearsome but not a very sophisticated type of player.

every team could use one like him though....Can't with a team of nothing but Rooney-style players, but his enforcer style works if you have 1.

If you can manage all your skills, and home them into one strategy, i don't see why only have his speed and other could not equal a good thing, to end up being a better player.

So are you telling me that he plays the game and plows through opponents like a bull dozer?

Rooney is effective, even if he's far from the most technical or interesting player out there. Do what works they say, and Rooney certainly does that.

exactly....not text book at all....you'd never make a video of his game and show it to kids to train them as the way to play.....but he is effective, flaws and all.

This sometimes is needed if the fakes and the dribbling skills cannot work to make a goal. Rooney is exactly the player who has this kind of ability.
