One of my favorite hockey players period, and a vital part of the Maple Leafs. Anyone else a fan of this guy, because I think he's awesome! He's the all-time leader for overtime goals with 15, and he's saved his team more than once. Definitely an amazing player to watch.
one of the more underrated players in the league. Those who follow the game reglisously know how good he is, but the to the casual fan, I don't think they get real value of the guy. Has been one of the more consistent players over the last 4 years.

Yeah, I have always liked Mats Sundin myself. He's the type of guy who busts his ass, but rarely gets his due from more "casual" fans.
Really a shame too, since he's so talented.
Hopefully Sundin will continue to play for several years to come, because Toronto certainly needs him and his talents. Heck, he's one of the few things about the Leafs that I wouldn't change.
If he has the best goals for all with 15, who comes in second? Or even third for that matter. I love hockey to watch, but there is no way I would have the stamina to play for anything more than fun.
What Sundin NEEDS is a better team to make use of all his talents.
There's a guy who could truly shine if the rest of his team was doing better.

Sundin's a very important part of Toronto, but it's unfair to keep him with a team that can't match his skills. Were he with another team, i'm sure he'd probably be getting a lot more respect.
Sundin is an amazing player. He always gives it his all, which is a lot. He's a great captain for Toronto, and I'd never want to see him leave, but he wont win a cup with Toronto, and for his sake, I wouldn't mind him getting traded.
