There has been chatter going around that Adriano Galliani has been meeting with business man Rezart Taci about possibly buying a major stake in the team. Berlusconi keeps saying he is not willing to sell, but you never know in the soccer arena. This guy tried to buy Bologna, but that fell through, so it seems like he wants in on a team really badly? Do you guys think he could break his way in and break Galiani and Berlusconi down if he threw the right amount of money at them? How do you guys think this will affect the team? What would a buyout mean for Becks possibly returning? Lol, okay maybe that wouldn't affect Beckham.

The modern football is more like a business than a sport. In the past they played football for fun, now they play it for funds. As most (should I say "all"?) the players are professional, I don't think they care about who funds them. They will play as long as they get paid.

I think your line, "In the past they played for fun now the play for funds" is genius! Also, it's a very true statement. I just think something does not seem right about this deal. Is it such a good thing to have one person controlling the major stake in a team. Ultimately what that person says goes, because at the end of the day, they have the deepest pockets and they can almost stop the show altogether.

It's a business. Players are employees of the team. They get paid to play. The average player is going to stay where he is being paid, rather than leave and take a chance of not being picked up by another team.

I think that most players see it as a job, with an employer and once they get to that point (in their mind), they will go where the most money is.
