I know he is current capt. of the team, but I cant find much more on him. Any fan out here know this guys history?

He played for the Leafs, and they traded him to Edmonton for not a lot. He was a great captain in Edmonton, but due to the bad season, they needed to rebuild. I was actually shocked to see that they traded him, because behind Smyth, he was the face of their franchise.

I guess after abit, its always good to freshen up. It seems he was just lost in the red tape of it all.

Yeah that's true, and as a true display of his leadership, Philadelphia made him their captain the day they acquired him.

That I didnt know at all. Seems like someone was rushing it to fix a mix up or something that quickly.
