Is this one on a roll or what? Sometimes I wonder the real reason mates are tossed to another team. Dealt him like he was a card in a game huh? Seems he likes getting penalty's. Flyers acquire Vandermeer from Chicago Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Flyers dealt forward Ben Eager to the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday in exchange for defenseman Jim Vandermeer. The announcement was made following the Flyers' 3-2 home loss to the Phoenix Coyotes. Eager, who led the NHL in penalty minutes last season, was scoreless with 62 penalty minutes in 23 games this year for Philadelphia. In parts of three seasons with the Flyers, the 23-year-old registered nine goals and 10 points, along with 313 PIMs in 111 games. Vandermeer posted two goals and nine points in 26 games for the Blackhawks this season. The 27-year-old began his career with the Flyers, playing 47 games over two seasons (2002-2004) with eight points and 52 penalty minutes. He was dealt to Chicago on February 19, 2004, in a trade which netted Philly veteran center Alex Zhamnov. 12/18 22:51:43 ET

Sometimes it seems less like the team acquires players to play than as bargaining chips later on or for PR. Leading in timeout minutes is pretty good PR for hockey.
