Can he save his job?
So, Paul Hart possibly may be the first Premier League Manager to get the axe this season if he doesn't turn his team around in the next few games. Who here thinks he can do it? Well, after six straight defeats, unless the soccer gods give Portsmouth players wings, I don't think he can. I tell you, there is no loyalty in sports anymore. The focus is always now, now, now. The big shocker for me is that David O'Leary and Glenn Hoddle have been mentioned to take over the job. Both of these guys have turned down great opportunities in the past. Does anyone think they'll take a chance on fulfilling the duties of turning Portsmouth around?

You hit on a good point there. We saw a couple of times last season where someone's job was under threat after a brief bad spell-and there was never any consideration of the fact that they were perhaps dealing with a great deal of newcomers at that time and really needed to let things settle down. I think that the biggest for me was Newcastle. When Keagan quit well, the team was a mess! Yet the guy with the attitude-name forgotten-was getting slammed when they did so poorly. With all the fighting surround the team it was no wonder. I got sick of it and stopped paying attention to the team after eighteen years of loosely following them. So with the current atmosphere for the now now now, I really doubt that he'll be around for much longer.
I am still hopeful for Paul Hart. Luckily some of his newer summer signees are showing promise as they contributed greatly towards Portsmouth's win in the Carling Cup. Everyone usually feels refreshed and motivated coming off of a win so hopefully this will infuse positive vibes and uplift Paul's and the players spirits to gain more wins.
