Cotto targets Mayweather in fight vs. Pacman
The top boxer of Puerto Rico is seeking the global respect and recognition in his incoming fight against the top boxer of the planet Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao on November 14 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Miguel Cotto who is defending his belt as champion of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Welterweight division hopes to get more big money fights once he defeat Pacquiao in their fight. Cotto who like Pacquiao is considered as veteran in professional boxing but the recognition he gets is not that lofty as that of Pacquiao. Part of the respect Cotto is aiming is to land a lucrative fight with the former top boxer of the planet American boxing superstar Floyd "Pretty Boy" Mayweather. The pride of Puerto Rico is oozing with confident that he can stop the winning streak of Pacquiao and hand Mayweather his first ever professional boxing loss. If ever Cotto gets a chance to fight Mayweather after Pacquiao it would offer him the chance to earn huge prize money and the recognition of being the top boxer in the world. However, before he can get a crack at Mayweather, Cotto needs to defeat first Pacquiao which many boxing experts considered as a great challenged for the slugger. To defeat Pacquiao, Cotto is now training hard at his native land to overcome and speed advantage of the Filipino boxing superstar. Cotto is aiming to use his size and power advantage to negative the speed of Pacquiao and defeat him in their fight. Like Cotto, Pacquiao is himself training hard in Baguio City, the summer capital of the Philippines to defeat Cotto get his seventh boxing belt and himself get the chance to take a crack at the vaunted Mayweather.
