This was a very bad news for the team. What do you think he should do to avoid this from happening again? He can be banned if the the slow over-rate will continue.

Well, the game has to be played according to the rules. If any one violates, they are to be penalised as per the rules. This will keep other players on their toes. It's good for the game of cricket that rules are to be strictly followed and not violated.

Imposing a fine of $40,000 is right in the overall interest of Cricket. Otherwise, some unethical practices will come into vogue and impact the seriousness of the game. I fully support imposition of fine for not following the rules of the game.

I agree with the fine so that the rules will be followed but $40,000 seemed to be too much. I guess I can say this because I'm not earning as much as the players of cricket.

I fully support the decision on imposing the fine. $40.000 may sounds too much for us, but it's almost "nothing" for a top cricket team. After all, the decision is important to reinforce the rules of the game, and to make sure that no player and team is above the law.

It really doesn't matter how big the fine is as long as the rules are being followed. I think the IPL doesn't apply fines for the sake of getting money from the players or teams. The fines are imposed so that rules are being followed properly.
