Four Players on 2007 Roster Named in Senator Mitchell's Report

Right-hander Roger Clemens, first baseman/DH Jason Giambi, left-hander Andy Pettitte and lefty Ron Villone are all on the list and a fifth player, catcher Todd Pratt was with the team until the last days of spring training. While some of these players were not necessarily on the roster for next season, some have already been resigned. While some of the names such as Giambi's were expected the usage has spread further than could have been expected drawing guesses as to how discipline will be dealt with. What do you feel is a fitting punishment? Loss of play? A monetary fine? Both?

There is already a policy in the league for steroid users. I thinks it is something like a 15 game supension for the first offense, and than proggeses untill they get banned. I think they should follow that policy for all players named in the Mitchell report. I also think it will be very hard for players like Clemens and Pettitte to make the Hall of Fame now.

Petite came out today and said he took it for 2 days, to recover from an injury only. He also said he was sorry if what he did was wrong. I think it was a good move for him to come out and admit it, unlike Clemens who has completely denied it.

But is the loss of money/games really fitting? Something along the lines of community service would be more fitting I think. They didn't just break the law, the let down little kids who look up to them and were bad role models.

ell personally I think they should not be allowed back in baseball. I think what they did is a lot worse than what Pete Rose did and he has a life time ban.

I don't agree with banning them from baseball. As you can see, a lot of players took steroids, and I think some players took them only to keep up. I'm not saying what they did was right, but I wouldn't want my career to go down the drain because the other players were cheating.

Roger Clemens...on steroids? Wow... I used to admire the heck out of that guy growing up, and he has turned to steroids? Pretty despicable if you ask me. As for Jason Giambi and the others...well I honestly never liked them to begin with. Not especially surprising either. Besides Mr. Clemens

I mean I think what every player did is a lot worse than what Pete Rose did and he got a life time ban. Pete Rose did not affect how the game was played and steroid users do. to me thats worse

If you were to allow some players to get away with it, and not all whats the point of the rule, to look good for the public? Seriously, offense = consequence.
