Cant believe no one has posted on this team yet, many interesting things about them. Maybe its a popularity thing. *grin* Rangers Football Club are a football club from Glasgow, Scotland who currently play in the Scottish Premier League. Rangers have won 51 league titles, a world record, and have won more major trophies than any football club in the world. The four founders of Rangers - brothers Moses and Peter McNeill, Peter Campbell and William McBeath - met in 1872 and named their team after an English rugby club upon seeing the name in a book. I really can not believe I am the first person posting on this team, seeing how long they have been around for. Even I have heard of this team, and Im from the states! Im sure someone more educating in this sport would be better suited butI give myself brownie points for taking the initiative!

Good job Sport. I knew about this team and you did a nice job short history. Very interesting. I am in the states and follow the MLS and the world cup, but don't pay alot of attention to overseas ball. Maybe I should.

I have family overseas that loves all sports, so I kind of have to be on the ball when they come to visit. Its interesting to take a UK and a US local, make them watch soccer (UK then US), and then make them watch (US) football too. Leads to good debates.

problem is they have never been one of the better marketed teams and while they have played well in league have never had the super stars that transcend local attention/media coverage so they have never been splashy enough to warrant the attention of a Man U or Chelsea.

exactly. There has not been a lot to market to the general population. Hard core soccer fans know the team well, but that does not get you the bigger picture.
