I wonder when people are going to start calling it the steel curtain curse, you know that happens when deaths come in quick times like this. What was the back surgery for, do you know?

Dwight "Mad Dog" White was a member of the infamous Steel Curtain as a defensive. He helped lead the Steelers to four Super Bowl titles in the 70's. He died on June 6th at the age of 58 from complications following back surgery. This is the second member of the Steel Curtain to pass this year. Thoughts and prayers are with the family. Smitty

This was a sad loss and I hope it isn't the start of a "curse" with more of the steel curtain dying. They are still too young and hold a lot of respect in steel town! I hadn't heard it was back surgery just that he died. I wonder if it was because of surgery. George

I hadn't heard about White passing - I'm sorry to hear that. One of the posters mentions several of the Steel Curtain players dying; who else has passed away recently?
