Barcelona to expand into the US?

FC Barcelona has put in a bid to launch a new MLS team in Miami, Florida and if successful, hope to have the new team playing by 2011. Having such a super European club involved could do great things for increasing the popularity of the sport over here.

Even without their involvement, the sport is fast gathering steam in the US. As a matter of fact, the World Cup team is doing very well in their qualifying zone. A Barcelona in the US should be better than Beckham's injection.

I'm curious as to how that would work. Would they simply raise the funds for the team and choose the manager? Would some of the players going over there?
