George Fant is a professional American football player in the National Football League. Since 2020, he has played for the New York Jets. He also used to play for the Seattle Seahawks.

Player Profile, High School, and College Career

George Fant was born on July 19, 1992, in Bowling Green, Kentucky in the United States. He stands 196 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 146 kg. He is an offensive tackle.

He attended Warren Central High School in his hometown. Later, he played college football for Western Kentucky University. In college, he played both football and basketball.

Professional Career

He turned pro in 2016 but went undrafted during that year’s NFL draft. Mostly, he had gone undrafted because he only had one year of playing college football as he had focused on basketball earlier in his college career.

He signed with the Seattle Seahawks in May 2016. He worked closely with Tom Cable and became the third player that Cable successfully turned into an offensive lineman despite having little or no experience. In November 2016, he made his first career start for the team.

He tore his ACL in the pre-2017 season. In 2018, he played offensive tackle in the absence of Will Dissly who was on injured reserve. In the 2019 season, he continued playing to be a hybrid lineman for the team.

In April 2020, he signed with the New York Jets to a three-year contract and he was the team’s starting right tackle. In the 2022 season, he was the starting left tackle. He got injured in September 2022 but was reactivated in December 2022.
