Josiah Bronson is an active American professional football defensive tackle for the Louisville Kings of the United Football League (UFL).

Player Profile, High School, and College Career

Josiah Hezekiah Bronson was born on July 3, 1997, in Covington, Washington, USA. The defensive tackle stands 191 cm tall, and plays at a listed weight of 134 kg.

He attended Kentwood High School in Covington, where he played defensive line. He initially committed to Temple University, redshirting his freshman season in 2015 due to an ankle injury and not seeing any game action in 2016.

Seeking a fresh start, he transferred to the University of Washington as a walk-on.

After sitting out the 2017 season due to transfer rules, he became a rotational player for the Huskies in 2018. His hard work paid off when he was awarded a scholarship during the 2019 spring practices.

Professional Career

Bronson went undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft but signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent.

He spent the first half of his rookie season on the Saints' practice squad before being elevated to the active roster, making his official NFL debut in October 2021. He played in six games for New Orleans before being waived in December. He was quickly claimed by the Cleveland Browns, where he appeared in one game before the end of the year.

Over the next few years, Bronson became a reliable practice squad depth piece, spending time with the Dallas Cowboys (2021) and the Miami Dolphins (2022). Continuing to pursue professional football, he transitioned to the UFL, signing with the Memphis Showboats for the 2024 season. His play in the spring league earned him brief offseason stints back in the NFL with the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts later that year.

After returning to the Memphis Showboats and subsequently spending part of the 2025 offseason with the Tennessee Titans, Bronson was selected by the Louisville Kings in the 2026 UFL Draft, where he currently serves as a rotational piece on their defensive line.
