Bass was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the sixth round (188th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft.He won the starting job outright as a rookie, instantly setting a franchise record with 141 total points in his debut campaign to help spark Buffalo's historic AFC Championship Game run.
Bass quickly solidified his reputation as a big-legged weapon capable of driving the ball through the harsh, swirling winter winds of Orchard Park, eventually signing a massive four-year extension ahead of the 2023 season. His resilience was heavily spotlighted during a stellar 2024 campaign, highlighted by a historic, franchise-record 61-yard game-winning field goal to defeat the division-rival Miami Dolphins in Week 9.
His momentum encountered a major hurdle when a severe pelvic and hip injury required surgery, forcing him to spend the entire 2025 season on injured reserve.
