Budda Baker

Budda Baker is an American professional football player. Since 2017, he plays in the National Football League for the Arizona Cardinals. Baker has been named to the Pro Bowl four times in his career, most recently in 2021. He has also been named to the First-team All-Pro twice. Before joining the NFL, he played college football for the University of Washington.

Player Profile, High School, and College Career

Bishard "Budda" Baker was born on January 10, 1996, in Bellevue, Washington. He stands 178 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 88 kg.

The safety attended Bellevue High School in his hometown in Washington in the United States. He was a running back in high school and by the time he was a senior, he was named one of the top recruits with the Seattle Times naming him as the High School Athlete of the Year. He later committed to play for the University of Washington.

He attended Washington through to 2017 when he announced that he was forgoing his senior year to join the NFL.

Professional Career

Baker was drafted into the NLF during the 2017 NFL Draft where the Arizona Cardinals selected him in the second round and he was the 36th overall pick of the draft. They signed him to a four-year contract in May of that year. He debuted for the team in November 2017.

In his rookie year, he was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team. In the same year, he was also selected to play in the Pro Bowl and the First-team All-Pro. He would be named to the Pro Bowl again in 2019, 2020, and most recently, 2021.

In the 2018 season, he was made the team’s starting strong safety. In 2020, he signed a four-year extension to his contract with the Cardinals. In 2021, he started in all 21 of the Cardinals’ games. He also changed his jersey number from 32 to 3.
