Harrison Butker is an American football player. He is currently a placekicker for the NFL team, the Kansas City Chiefs.
Harrison K. Butker is second in all of NFL history to have a career field goal percentage of 90.1% (minimum of 100), following Justin Tucker.
He attended The Westminster Schools, where he was a 3-sport athlete – football, basketball, and soccer. As a footballer, he broke the then-school record of a 53-yards field goal.

Butker went to Georgia Tech and played football from 2013 to 2016. During this time, Butker converted 208 of 210 extra-point attempts and 43 of 60 goal attempts.
Career
The Carolina Panthers selected Butker in the 2017 NFL Draft. He signed into a 4-year contract with them on May 5, 2017, but was waived in favor of Graham Gano on September 13. He was signed to the team’s practice squad the next day.
The Kansas City Chiefs signed Butker on September 26, 2017. He played with the team versus the Washington Redskins on October 2, 2017, where he made a game-winning goal.
In the next game opposite the Houston Texans, all five of his field-goal attempts made it, along with all 3 extra-point tries. In Week 8, Butker converted 5 field goals and a 51-yarder, which helped the Chiefs win over the Denver Broncos.
This earned Butker the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week and the AFC Special Teams Player of the Months awards. In his first month in NFL, Butker received two NFL records – the only player with five field goals in several games in a rookie season and the most made field goals a rookie kicker made in a month.
In 2018, Butker made career-high extra points in the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Chiefs signed Butker with exclusive rights free agent tender, which is a 1-year contract. The team extended his contract for 5 years on June 13, 2019.
Butker’s performance in the 2020 season earned him some recognition and impressive statistics. He received AFC Special Teams Player for the Week for his performance in the game versus the Los Angeles Chargers.
In 2021, Butker was put on the reserve/COVID-19 list after he tested positive for the virus. This caused him to miss the Week 16 game, the first in his professional career. He appeared in 16 games in the 2021 season, converting 47 of 49 extra-point attempts and 25 of 28 field-goal attempts.
