Player Profile and Personal Life

Jack Doyle is a former American footballer. He used to play tight end for nine seasons for the NFL team, the Indianapolis Colts.

Jack Glenn Doyle attended Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, and played high school football there. His high school team was the champion in 2006 while he was All-State and earned Honorable Mention All-State honors.

He went to Western Kentucky, where he played football. He was named to Phil Steele’s National All-Freshman squad in his rookie college season. In sophomore, he was named second-team All-Sun Belt.

His senior year was his best season where he was named first-team All-
Sun Belt, and was a Mackey Award semi-finalist. In college, he was a three-time captain. Doyle finished with 53 passes for 566 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Career

Doyle was in the 2013 Senior Bowl. He didn’t receive an invitation to the NFL Scouting Combine. Although DraftScout.com ranked him as the 20th best tight-end prospect, he was undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft.

The Tennessee Titans signed Doyle as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2013. He ended up cut from the final roster, but the Titans wanted to sign him to the team’s practice squad.

The Indianapolis Colts took Doyle off the waivers on September 1, 2013. He was added to the Colts’ active roster and debuted professionally in the season opener in 2013. He finished this first season with 5 receptions for 19 yards, 4 starts, and 15 games.

Doyle stayed with the Colts until 2021. In 2019, he signed a contract extension worth $21 million with them. During that season, he started and played all 16 games. Doyle finished 2019 with 43 receptions for 448 yards and 4 touchdowns. After the season, he replaced Travis Kelce at the 2020 Pro Bowl.

In 2021, Doyle made a personal foul penalty in the game’s final minute against the Ravens. Doyle retired from the NFL on March 7, 2022.
