Hunter Henry is a professional American football player from Arkansas. As of the 2022 season, he plays in the National Football League for the New England Patriots, which he signed in 2021. He also used to play for the Los Angeles Chargers. Prior to joining the NFL, he played collegiate football for the University of Arkansas.

Player Profile, High School, and College Career

Hunter Henry was born on December 7, 1994, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He stands 196 cm and his weight was last listed at 113 kg. He attended Pulaski Academy in Little Rock where he played on the football team and was an offensive tackle, defensive end, and wide receiver.

In his senior year, he was named to the Parade Al-American team. He later committed to play for the University of Arkansas. He stayed with them through to 2016. During that time, he was given the John Mackey Award in 2015.

Professional Career

Henry was chosen in the second round of the 2016 NFL draft by the then-San Diego Chargers. The 35th Overall pick, he was the second tight end to be selected for that draft. He signed with the team in July 2016. At the end of his rookie season, he was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team.

He was placed on an injured reserve in 2017 after he lacerated a kidney. In 2018, he suffered a torn ACL and was ruled out for the rest of the season. A fracture in 2019 saw him out for several weeks as well. In 2020, the Chargers placed the franchise tag on him.

In 2021, he signed to play with the New England Patriots.
