He also played collegiate football for the University of Alabama from 2017 to 2019. He was released from his contract with the Raiders in May 2022 after he caused a car crash that killed a 23-year-old woman.

Professional Career
He was picked by the Las Vegas Raiders in the first round. He was the 12th overall pick of the 2020 draft. He debuted in the NFL in September 2020. His rookie year ended with him having posted 452 receiving yards.
He played seven games in 2021 before he was released from his contract in November 2021.
2021 Car Crash
In November 2021, Ruggs caused the death of a 23-year-old woman, Tina Tintor, and her dog when he rear-ended her car. He was charged with driving under the influence. He is awaiting trial as of May 2022.
