When Coach Matt Rhule helmed the Owls, Anderson was switched to the wide receiver position.

Professional Career

He went undrafted during the 2016 Draft but was later signed by the New York Jets. He would stay with the team through to 2019.

In May 2016, he signed as an undrafted free agent for the Jets and he made his debut in September 2016. He rounded off his rookie season with 42 receptions and 587 receiving yards. He played well for the team in 2017 and 2018, managing to become the 2018 leading receiver.

In 2019, he became a restricted free agent. In 2020, he was signed by the Carolina Panthers. Anderson debuted for the team in Week 1 of 2020. By August 2021, he signed a contract extension with the team.
