Parris Campbell is an American former professional football wide receiver who played in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons. He won Superbowl LIX with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Player Profile, High School, and College Career
Parris John Campbell Jr. was born on July 16, 1997, in Akron, Ohio, USA. The speedy wide receiver stands 183 cm tall, and played at a listed weight of 95 kg.He attended St. Vincent–St. Mary High School in Akron, where he developed into an explosive athlete on the gridiron. Committing to Ohio State University, Campbell played for the Buckeyes from 2014 to 2018. After redshirting his freshman year during the Buckeyes' 2015 College Football Playoff National Championship run, he gradually grew into a star.
Campbell truly broke out during his senior season in 2018, racking up over 1,000 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns to earn First-team All-Big Ten honors, showcasing a 4.31-second 40-yard dash speed that made him a highly coveted NFL prospect.
Professional Career
Campbell was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round (59th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft.His first three years in the NFL were heavily derailed by a brutal string of injuries. Despite showing flashes of brilliance, Campbell suffered a sports hernia, a broken hand, a torn PCL/MCL, and a major foot injury, limiting him to just 15 games over his first three seasons.
Displaying incredible perseverance, he finally put together a fully healthy campaign in 2022. Playing in all 17 games for the Colts, he logged a career-high 63 receptions for 623 yards and three touchdowns, proving his capability as an NFL starter.
Following his breakout season, Campbell embarked on a tour of the NFC East. He signed a one-year deal with the New York Giants in 2023, appearing in 12 games. In 2024, he joined the Philadelphia Eagles, providing depth to their wide receiver room. His perseverance paid off in the ultimate way, as he earned a championship ring when the Eagles captured a victory in Super Bowl LIX.
Campbell spent the 2025 season with the Dallas Cowboys, primarily operating on the practice squad and appearing in one game.
Retirement
On May 27, 2026, Campbell officially announced his retirement from professional football, and the Cowboys placed him on the Reserve/Retired list.Career Highlights
