J. K. Dobbins is an American Football player from the United States of America. He plays for the Baltimore Ravens in the National Football League.
Player Profile, High School, and College Career
J'Kaylin Dobbins was born on December 17, 1998, in Houston, Texas in the United States of America. He stands 178 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 96 kg.Dobbins is a native of Texas. His father is Lawrence Dobbins, an athlete himself. He died of a stroke when Dobbins was 14 years old. Dobbins’ mother is Mya Grounds, whom he credits as his greatest support system.
He went to La Grange High School, where he played football and had a record of 74 touchdowns and 5,149 yards. He was a four-star athlete who received numerous scholarships. Major recruiting websites put him in the top 5 in his class and the top 10 players in Texas.
He played college football at the Ohio State University in 2017, with a record-setting rookie season. In December 2019, he left during his senior year with a record of 4,459 yards rushing, making him second all-time. He won numerous awards during college, including Big Ten titles.
Professional Career
The Baltimore Ravens picked Dobbins in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He scored two career-rushing touchdowns in his debut game versus the Cleveland Browns. Dobbins then made a 100-yard rushing game for the first time in Week 8 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.In November 2020, he was put on the COVID-19/reserve list. The Ravens activated him on December 4. Dobbins rushed 160 yards and made 2 touchdowns during Week 17 of the season, the Ravens taking the win against the Cincinnati Bengals 38-3.
Dobbins tore his ACL during the last preseason game of 2021 versus the Washington Football Team. As such, the Ravens put him on injured reserve for the time being. He suffered another knee injury in Week 6 of the 2022 season. They activated him in December 2022.
