Chris Godwin is a professional American football player in the National Football League. In 2020, he was part of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers team that won Super Bowl LV. In 2019, he was selected to play in the Pro Bowl. The wide receiver played collegiate football for the Pennsylvania State University.

Career
Godwin chose to commit to play for Penn State, staying with the University from 2014 to 2016. Before he left for the NFL, he was named to the Third Team All-Big Ten.In 2017, he was chosen by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the NFL Draft. He was their 84th overall pick in the 3rd round. He debuted for the team that season. His stats for his rookie year totaled 525 yards and 34 receptions.
He made several career records and firsts in 2009, including being named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week in Week 12. That year, he was also selected to play in the Pro Bowl. The following year, he was part of the team that won the Super Bowl LV Championships.
The Buccaneers placed the franchise tag on Godwin in early 2021. He continued his impressive performances throughout the year until he was sidelined by a torn ACL in December 2021. He also sprained his MCL. In 2022, the team again placed the franchise tag on Goodwin.
