Austin Ekeler is a professional American Football player from Nebraska. As of the 2022 season, he is a running back for the Los Angeles Chargers in the National Football Association. He attended Eaton High School in Colorado and went on to play collegiate football for Western Colorado University. He went undrafted during the 2017 NFL Draft.

Austin Ekeler was born on May 17, 1995, in Lincoln, Nebraska. A running back, he stands 178 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 91 kg. He played for The Fightin’ Reds of Eaton High School. He went on to attend Western Colorado University from 2013 to 2016.Ekeler started in nine games when he was a freshman and led his team in rushing yards. In his sophomore year, he set the record for rushing in his school.
Professional Career
He went undrafted during the 2017 Draft. Later, he signed a contract with the Los Angeles Chargers for a reported US$1.66 million. As of 2022, he continues to play for the Chargers but he has the option to become a free agent in 2023.In his rookie season with the Chargers, he made 260 rushing yards. In 2019, he started the season as the starting rushing back while Melvin Gordon was still in contract disputes with the team management. In 2020, he signed a contract extension with the charges that were worth US$24.5 million.
In 2021, Ekeler entered the Charges Hall of Fame for the most touchdowns in a single season. He also co-led the NFL in touchdowns that year.
