Josh Jacobs is an American professional football player who plays in the National Basketball Association as a running back. As of 2022, he plays for the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders. In 2020, he was selected to play in the Pro Bowl. Prior to joining the NFL, he attended McLain High School and the University of Alabama.

Player Profile and High School Career

Joshua Jacobs was born on February 11, 1998, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The running back stands 178 cm and his weight was last listed at 100 kg. In middle school, he was homeless and his homeless experience was featured in a Kia commercial during Super Bowl LIV. His younger brother is Isaiah Jacobs. He also plays in the NFL for the Maryland Terrapins.

When he was in high school, he rushed 5,372 yards and had 56 touchdowns.

College and Professional Career

Jacobs committed to play for the University of Alabama. He was teammates with Damien Harris and Bo Scarbrough. In 2017, he helped his team become the CFP National Champion. In 2018, he was named the SEC Championship Game MVP.

He was drafted into the NFL by the Oakland Raiders during the 2019 NFL Draft. Jacobs was their 24th overall pick in the first round. In July of that year, he signed a rookie contract with the team. In the same year, he was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team.

He became the first rookie in the Raiders' history to rush more than 1,000 yards in his rookie season. However, he missed the last four games of the season because of skin infection and a shoulder injury. He returned to the game in Week 1 of the 2020 Season.

In that year, he was selected to play in the Pro Bowl.
