Derrick Henry is a professional American football player. As of the 2022 season, he plays in the National Football League for the Tennessee Titans. He has played in the Pro Bowl twice, once in 2019 and again in 2020. He was also named the NFL Offensive Player of the Year in 2020.

Derrick Lamar Henry Jr. was born on January 4, 1994, in Yulee, Florida. He stands 191 cm tall ad his weight was last listed at 112 kg.He was mostly raised by his grandmother who nicknamed a young Henry ‘Shocka’. He has stated that she is one of the biggest influences in his life and he has a tattoo of her on his chest. His dog is named Nino.
Career
He attended Yulee High School in his hometown. While there, he not only played football but basketball and track as well. By the time he was a senior, ESPN considered him a five-star recruit. He went on to sign with the University of Alabama. He played for Alabama from 2013 to 2015. In 2018, he finished his degree at Alabama, fulfilling a promise to his grandmother.Some of the awards he received while with Alabama include the Maxwell Award, Doak Walker Award, and the Walter Camp Award. He was also named the SEC Offensive Player of the Year in 2015.
In 2016, was drafted into the NFL by the Tennessee Titans. He started his career with the Titans as a backup player. He did not transition to a starter until 2018. 2019 was one of the best years in his career. He gained his first rushing title and he was also named to the Pro Bowl for the first time this year. He achieved the same honors again in 2020.
Also in 2020, he was named the NFL Offensive Player of the Year. He was also named to the First-team All-Pro this year. His 2021 season was shortened after he suffered a Jones Fracture during a Week 8 game. He came off the injured list in January 2022.
