Dalvin Cook is an American professional football running back who established himself as one of the most explosive and productive offensive playmakers in the National Football League (NFL) over the last decade. He has played with the Minnesota Vikings for 6 seasons.

Dalvin James Cook was born on August 10, 1995, in Opa-locka, Florida, United States. The running back stands 178 cm tall, and plays at a listed weight of 95 kg. He is the older brother of fellow NFL running back James Cook.

He attended Miami Central High School in West Little River, Florida, where he was a highly touted national recruit. Committing to Florida State University, Cook starred for the Seminoles from 2014 to 2016. He enjoyed a spectacular collegiate career, utilizing his exceptional agility to become the school's all-time leading rusher.

His dominant 2016 junior season earned him Unanimous All-American honors, firmly establishing him as one of the top running back prospects in the country.

Professional Career

Cook was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the second round (41st overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He made an immediate impact, showcasing his elite playmaking ability from the backfield. During his six-year tenure in Minnesota (2017–2022), Cook was the focal point of the offense, earning four consecutive Pro Bowl selections from 2019 to 2022.

He consistently ranked among the league's leaders in rushing yards and total touchdowns, proving to be a dangerous dual-threat runner and pass-catcher.

Following his departure from Minnesota, Cook transitioned into a veteran role, providing experience and depth for several franchises. He spent the 2023 season split between the New York Jets and the Baltimore Ravens, and most recently played for the Dallas Cowboys during the 2024 season.

Through 2024, he has officially accumulated 6,227 rushing yards, 1,882 receiving yards, and 52 total touchdowns across his accomplished NFL career.
