Saquon Barkley is an active American professional football running back for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He won the AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year award in 2024 and helped lead the Eagles to a Super Bowl LIX title.

Saquon Rasul Quevis Barkley was born on February 9, 1997, in The Bronx, New York, USA. The Running Back stands 183 cm tall, and his weight was last listed at 106 kg.He attended Whitehall High School in Pennsylvania, where he was a standout multi-sport star in football, basketball, and track. Playing for the Penn State Nittany Lions from 2015 to 2017, he shattered numerous program records, accumulating 5,538 all-purpose career yards and 43 rushing touchdowns. A two-time Big Ten Most Valuable Player and consensus All-American.
He finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting in 2017 before deciding to forgo his senior year to enter the NFL Draft.
Professional Career
Barkley was selected by the New York Giants in the first round (2nd overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft.He exploded onto the professional scene, leading the NFL with 2,028 scrimmage yards and breaking the rookie running back record with 91 receptions to claim the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award. While severe knee and ankle injuries compromised his 2020 and 2021 campaigns. Barkley staged a dramatic career resurgence in 2022, rushing for a career-high 1,312 yards to secure his second Pro Bowl selection and anchor the Giants' offensive attack.
In March 2024, Barkley signed a highly publicized three-year, $37.75 million contract with the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles. His debut season in Philadelphia was historic.
He led the NFL in rushing, won the AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year award, and set a single-season football record with 2,504 combined regular-season and postseason rushing yards. His dominant playoff run culminated in a championship victory in Super Bowl LIX, where he broke Terrell Davis' single-season postseason rushing record. He sustained his heavy production through the 2025 campaign, crossing the 1,100-yard rushing mark for a second consecutive year to guide the Eagles to another NFC East division title.
