Ja'Marr Chase is an active American professional football wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL). In 2021, he was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. He still plays with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Player Profile, High School, and College Career

Ja'Marr Anthony Chase was born on March 1, 2000, in Harvey, Louisiana, United States. The elite wide receiver stands 183 cm tall, and plays at a listed weight of 93 kg.

He attended Archbishop Rummel High School in Metairie, Louisiana, where he became a highly sought-after athletic prospect. Staying close to home, he committed to Louisiana State University (LSU) and played for the Tigers from 2018 to 2020.

His 2019 sophomore season was nothing short of legendary. He led the NCAA in both receiving yards and receiving touchdowns while serving as the primary deep threat in a historically prolific passing offense. His dominant performance earned him the prestigious Fred Biletnikoff Award, Unanimous All-American honors, and a College Football Playoff National Championship victory.

Professional Career

Chase was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals with the fifth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, famously reuniting him with his collegiate quarterback, Joe Burrow.

He made an immediate and historic impact upon entering the NFL. In his 2021 rookie campaign, he shattered expectations by setting the rookie record for single-game receiving yards and earning Second-team All-Pro honors.

He culminated his sensational first season by winning the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award and serving as a major catalyst in leading the Bengals to an appearance in Super Bowl LVI.

Since his rookie year, Chase has remained the absolute focal point of the Bengals' high-powered offense, earning Pro Bowl selections in each of his first five seasons in the league.

During the 2024 season, he reached a historic pinnacle by becoming only the fifth player in the Super Bowl era to achieve the receiving "triple crown"—leading the entire NFL in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns in a single season. This incredible achievement earned him his first First-team All-Pro selection, which he followed up with a second consecutive First-team All-Pro nod in 2025.

Entering the 2026 season, Chase is securely locked in as a franchise cornerstone for the Bengals, having signed a historic contract extension in early 2025 that made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league at the time.

Through 2025, he boasts 520 receptions, 6,837 receiving yards, and 54 receiving touchdowns across his stellar career.
