Adrian Lewis Peterson or Adrian Peterson is a professional American football player. He is currently a free agent and plays as a running back. Peterson also played collegiate football in Oklahoma and had been famous for setting a 1,925-yard record during his freshman year in 2004. Due to this remarkable achievement, he was named an All-American in the same year and finished at the top of the Heisman Trophy balloting. Overall, he is considered one of the best running backs in the history of football.

Peterson began his professional football journey when he was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 2007. During this year, he was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the year and earned a record for the most rushing yards set in one game. His time with the Vikings also earned him the MVP award in his Pro Bowl performance as well as an excellent record of 3,000 yards in only two seasons. This record cemented his name in the National Football League history. During his 51st game in 2010, he was declared the fifth-fastest player to make 5,000 yards.

In 2012, Peterson received the AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year Award and the NFL MVP award. A year after, he was declared as the third-fastest football player in NFL history to have reached the 10,000 rushing yards and by 2015, he made it to the list of the First-Team All-Pro.

In addition to playing with the Minnesota Vikings from 2007-2016, Peterson also played with the New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals in 2017 and the Washington Redskins from 2018-2019. In 2020, he played with the Detroit Lions. He played with this team as a free agent, after coming back from a suspension due to an indictment made in 2014 charging him of negligent or reckless injury to his child.
