Forrest Gregg
Alvis Forrest Gregg is a retired professional American football player in the National Football League (NFL). He held an offensive tackle position for the Green Bay Packers from 1956, 1958 to 1970 and Dallas Cowboys in 1971. Gregg is a three-time Super Bowl champion, five-time NFL champion, and nine-time Pro Bowler.
Born on October 18, 1933 in Texas, he attended Sulphur Springs High School. He then played college football for Southern Methodist University. In the 1956 NFL Draft, he was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the second round.
During his career, he usually played right tackle but also filled in the guard position. He was a part of the Lombardi Packers dynasty that had 2 Super Bowls and 5 NFL Championships under the belt. Gregg transferred to the Dallas Cowboys in 1971 where he played a big part in securing the Super Bowl VI win. Gregg was considered as one of the best players of all time. He was ranked 28th on the 100 Greatest Football Players 1999 list by The Sporting News. As a coach, he worked with the San Diego Chargers, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Browns, Toronto Argonauts, Cincinnati Bengals, Green Bay Packers, SMU, and Shreveport Pirates.
His career player statistics are 193 games played, 8 fumble recoveries, and his NFL coaching record is 75- 85-1. Forrest Gregg is a Pro Football Hall of Famer.
