Douglas Dewayne Baldwin Jr. was born on September 21, 1988, in Gulf Breeze, Florida, United States. The Wide Receiver stands 178 cm tall, and his weight was last listed at 87 kg.

He attended Gulf Breeze High School in Florida, where he was a standout multi-sport athlete letterman in football, basketball, and track. Playing for the Stanford Cardinal from 2007 to 2010 under head coach Jim Harbaugh. He overcame an early-career ankle injury and a battle with depression to lead the team in receiving yards and touchdowns as a senior, earning Second-team All-Pac-10 honors before entering the professional ranks.

Professional Career

Baldwin went undrafted in the 2011 NFL Draft but signed as an undrafted free agent with the Seattle Seahawks following the conclusion of the league lockout.

He defied the odds as a rookie, leading the team in both receptions and receiving yards to become the first undrafted rookie to do so for an NFL franchise since 1986. He helped fuel the team's dominant run to a dominant victory over the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII.

He continued his steady ascent, putting together a historic 2015 campaign where he tied for the NFL lead with 14 receiving touchdowns, a stretch that included an incredible run mirroring marks set by Hall of Famer Jerry Rice.

His consistent excellence from the slot resulted in back-to-back Pro Bowl selections in 2016 and 2017.

Though a series of grueling knee, shoulder, and sports hernia injuries severely restricted his physical movement during the 2018 season, he continued to fight through the pain to provide veteran production.

Following multiple offseason operations, he was released by the team with a failed physical designation and officially retired from the NFL in May 2019, finishing his career as the Seahawks' third all-time leader in completions and receiving yards, and second in touchdowns.

Off the Field

Off the field, Baldwin transitioned directly into the business and philanthropic sectors, serving as the CEO of Vault89, a venture capital firm based in Washington. He also started working heavily as a board member for the Players Coalition to advocate for criminal justice reform.

Heavily devoted to his faith and community, he personally donated one million dollars to help establish the Family First Community Center in Renton, Washington, to provide educational and fitness resources for youth.

He resides in the Pacific Northwest with his wife, Tara, and their two daughters.
