Earl Thomas is a professional American football player in the National Football League (NFL). He currently holds the free safety position for the Baltimore Ravens. Thomas is a Super Bowl Champion and a six-time Pro Bowler.

Born on May 7, 1989 in Texas, Thomas played football and track for the West Orange-Stark High School. He chose the University of Texas at Austin where he received All-Freshman honors. He declared for the 2011 NFL Draft and was selected by the Seattle Seahawks.

During his rookie year, he was named starting free safety and played in all 16 games. By the next season, he was ranked 66th on the Top 100 Players of 2012 and was named to his first Pro Bowl. Thomas was selected again for the 2013 Pro Bowl. Through his exceptional performance in the 2013 season, the team was able to take the NFC Championship game.

In Super Bowl XLIX, he was able to record nine combined tackles against the New England Patriots. As he was still recovering from his injuries, Thomas chose not to participate in the 2016 Pro Bowl. Originally off to a good start, his injuries reappeared in season 2016 but he was still able to place 30th on the rank.

In 2017, he was ranked at number 48 and was named to his sixth Pro Bowl. After having a season-ending injury during the 2018 season, he transferred to the Baltimore Ravens. His current player statistics are 684 total tackles, 67 pass deflections, 28 interceptions, 11 forced fumbles, 5 fumble recoveries, and 3 defensive touchdowns.
