Jared Goff is an active American professional football quarterback who plays in the National Football League (NFL) for 11 seasons. Committing to the University of California, Goff played college football for the Golden Bears from 2013 to 2015.
He had a record-breaking college career leading the team's offense. He started every single game of his three-year collegiate career and set conference single-season records for both passing yards and passing touchdowns. His excellent play earned him First-team All-Pac-12 honors in 2015 before he chose to enter the professional draft early.
Professional Career
Goff was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the first round (1st overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.He spent the first part of his rookie year as a backup before starting the final seven games of the season. He made a huge leap forward the following year, establishing himself as a top starter and leading the Rams to their first playoff spot since 2004.
The prime of his career saw him guide the Rams all the way to an appearance in Super Bowl LIII while earning back-to-back Pro Bowl selections. After being traded to the Detroit Lions in 2021, he became a major leader for the franchise. He led the Lions to a historic division crown and their first playoff victory in over 30 years, reaching the NFC Championship Game and earning three more Pro Bowl honors.
Entering the 2026 season, he continues to serve as a key starter for the Detroit Lions, having accumulated 3,440 pass completions, 39,622 passing yards, and 256 passing touchdowns across his ongoing career.
