Casey Bramlet is an American former professional football quarterback. Best known for setting prolific, long-standing passing records at the University of Wyoming and achieving championship glory overseas in NFL Europe.

Player Profile, High School, and College Career

Casey Bramlet was born on April 2, 1981, in Casper, Wyoming, USA. The quarterback stands 193 cm tall, and his playing weight was listed at 100 kg.

He prepped at Wheatland High School in Wyoming, where he put together a highly dominant multi-sport resume. He served as team captain for both the football and basketball squads, leading the basketball team to a number 1 state ranking during his senior year while maintaining excellent grades as a member of the National Honor Society.

Committing to the University of Wyoming, Bramlet developed into one of the most prolific homegrown passers in the history of the Cowboys program, starting under center from 2000 to 2003.

Professional Career

Bramlet was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the seventh round (218th overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft.

He served as an essential depth piece behind Carson Palmer and Jon Kitna during his rookie year. In early 2005, the Bengals allocated him to the Hamburg Sea Devils of NFL Europe, where he started all ten games of their inaugural season.

After a brief stint with the Washington Redskins in 2006, Bramlet rejoined Washington in 2007 and was allocated back to Hamburg for a definitive, career-defining spring campaign.

He engineered a magnificent international run that culminated in leading the Sea Devils to a 37–28 victory over the Frankfurt Galaxy in World Bowl XV. Bramlet exploded in the championship game, throwing for 347 yards and four touchdowns to comfortably capture the World Bowl Most Valuable Player award.

Following his European success, Bramlet navigated a whirlwind tour as a highly trusted emergency reserve in the National Football League. He saw extensive preseason action for the Atlanta Falcons in late 2007 following Michael Vick's suspension, spent time on the active roster for the Miami Dolphins, and later reinforced the offseason and practice squads of both the San Diego Chargers and the Baltimore Ravens.

He completed his active professional gridiron journey in 2009 by signing with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League (CFL).

Off the Field

His younger brother Corey Bramlet followed his exact footsteps to serve as the starting quarterback for the Wyoming Cowboys, famously leading the program to a Las Vegas Bowl victory.
