Gibran Hamdan
Gibran Latif Hamdan is a former professional quarterback, who lastly played for the team of Toronto Argonauts. He played his college football for Indiana and was taken by the Washington Redskins as the 232nd pick overall in the seventh round of the 2003 draft.
At Indiana, he accumulated 2,115 passing yards and 9 touchdowns in his senior season. His total passing yards were the 7th best in Hoosier history. He was also named as the Big Ten Co-Player of the week for his 310 yard, 24 of 36 career high 4 touchdown performance in the team's victory over Wisconsin. He even played baseball for the Indiana University.
He's been associated with five NFL teams and one NFL Europe team in the past five years. During the season of 2003-2004, he was a quarterback for the Washington Redskins. He was released by the team in September after the training camp. In 2005, he was signed by the Seattle Seahawks and allocated to the NFL Europa. The same time he played for the Amsterdam Admirals from 2004 through 2006. He got waived on 28th August, 2006 and was signed to the San Francisco 49ers practice squad on 3rd September, 2006.
Other than the above teams, he was also signed by the Miami Dolphins (2007) on 6th February, 2007 and was released at the conclude preseason on 1st September. Since 26 September, 2007, he has been a member of the Buffalo Bills appearing in three preseason games during the 2008 campaign. Bby 2009 November, he was waived by the team and on 10th March 2010, he signed a one year contract with the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL (Canadian Football League). He retired on 4rth June, 2010.
The six-foot-four, 220-pound QB is built for the position but lacks a load of experience having been relegated to practice squads and/or cut from many of the teams that signed him. He's also been hampered by numerous injuries.
