DE Jason Taylor was unhappy with new Dolphins’ VP Bill Parcells and the rest of the organization and wanted out of the Miami Dolphins. On Sunday, Taylor, a former competitor on Dancing with the Stars, got his wish; he was no longer on the Miami roster.

The Fin became a Skin, as Miami traded the Pro Bowl defensive end to the Washington Redskins.

In the trade, the Redskins gave the Dolphins their 2009 second-round draft pick and 2010 sixth-round pick. The trade happened within 10 hours of Washington DE Phillip Daniels sustaining a season-ending knee injury. Daniels injured his knee on the first day of Skins training camp.

In 11 seasons, Taylor has notched 117 sacks, including 11 last season. He’s started every game in the last eight seasons. The defensive end has been a Pro Bowler six times.

The rift between Taylor and the team apparently started when Parcells felt that Taylor should not be on the television program. The Miami executive wanted him to be focusing on team interests.

Last season, Taylor, who is 33, was the only Dolphin to go to the Pro Bowl. The Dolphins were 1-15 last season.
