Coaches to the Right, Coaches to the Left

The fact is that there are a whole lot of head coaches out there who are available to lead the next NFL team of the future to its destiny.

The fact is that there are a whole lot of head coaches out there who are available to lead the next NFL team of the future to its destiny. It was in 2000 that Bill Belichick joined the New England Patriots as their new head coach. The result was truly mind bending.bill belichick

Belichick won four AFC Championships (2001, 2003, 2004, 2007) and three Super Bowl victories (2001, 2003, 2004). He was the AP Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2007. Even this year, after losing one of the top quarterbacks in the league in the first game of the season, he managed to ensure that his club would be competitive until the final day of the regular-season.

Some potential coaches that may find new digs include former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach and TV commentator Bill Cowher; recently fired New York Jets helmsman Eric Mangini and veteran top man of the Denver Broncos, Mike Shanahan. Additionally, former head coach Mike Martz, who recently served as offensive coordinator for the 49ers, has been dismissed, and Bill Parcells, who has been the front office man for the Miami Dolphins, may be looking to move to another team.

Romeo Crennel, who is no longer the head coach of the Cleveland Browns, may stay with that organization, while Rod Marinelli of the Detroit Lions is seeking employment.

There’s also a wealth of offensive and defensive coordinators who are looking to secure a head coaching stint. The Falcons, Dolphins, Cardinals and Ravens could certainly lose coaches from their ranks.

Last season was all about the quarterback shuffle through free agency, trades and the draft. Now the NFL is all about the coaches’ shift. All of this movement and discontent certainly makes the league interesting.
