Bad News Browns—Quinn Out for Season

The Cleveland Browns, a team that many thought would take the AFC North this season, have had a tough go of it.

The Cleveland Browns, a team that many thought would take the AFC North this season, have had a tough go of it. Quinn> Struggling to make the payoffs at 4-7, the Browns have been forced to deal with numerous injuries, problems at the QB spot and inconsistent play. It looked like head coach Romeo Crennel might have found a solution to his QB woes when he replaced starting signal caller Derek Anderson with Brady Quinn.

In three games, Quinn completed 45 of 89 passes for 518 yards and two touchdowns. He also tossed two interceptions. His completion rate stands at 50.6% and his rating is 66.6. Anderson, who played in nine games this season, completed 49.0% of his throws for nine touchdowns and eight picks. His rating is 66.0. Although neither QB was stellar, Quinn had played well considering his lack of NFL experience.

Quinn broke the tip of his right index finger on November 17 in a 16-6 loss to the Buffalo Bills. During that game, the quarterback tossed two interceptions and was benched in the third quarter by Crennel.

Although Quinn wants to play, it was decided that it would be best if the former Notre Dame star either rested and immobilize the broken finger for four-to-six weeks or had surgery. A decision has not yet been made as to which route the QB will take.
