The Dallas Cowboys were certainly happy to hear the news concerning their star signal caller. Quarterback Tony Romo> is ready to play and will start against the Washington Redskins. The 5 and 4 Cowboys, who were favorites to win the NFC and go to the Super Bowl, have been struggling due to various injuries and off-field issues involving key players.
Romo started to practice last week and looks ready to go Sunday night when the team visits the Redskins. Washington’s record stands at 6- 3. They are in second-place in the NFC East. Last year’s Super Bowl Champs, the New York Giants, hold first with an impressive 8 and 1 mark.
Romo’s broken pinky on his throwing hand is not fully healed but he noted that it gets better every day and that he does not expect it to be a factor in Sunday’s contest. Romo was sidelined on October 12 in the game against the Arizona Cardinals. Both Brad Johnson and Brooks Bollinger tried their hands at QB but neither proved to be effective.
Tight end Jason Witten and wideout Terrell Owens were both extremely optimistic about the return of their star quarterback. In six games this season, Romo has a QB rating of 103.5, completing 64.0% of his passes for a total of 1,689 yards. He’s tossed 14 TDs and 5 INTs.
