Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson has been suspended by the NFL. Johnson, who has been held out of games by the team the last two weeks, will miss week 10 of the season. League commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Larry Johnson> for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
The back is not allowed to be on the Chiefs’ premises until November 10. The suspension will result in Johnson losing the equivalent of one game-check, which is about $147,000. Johnson was charged Monday with simple assault for allegedly spitting his drink in a woman’s face on October 10. This is not the first time that the Kansas City running back has been in trouble with the law. He’s scheduled for a December 4 court date related to an incident in February when he allegedly pushed a woman’s face in a different Kansas City bar. Johnson has been accused of assaulting a woman four times in the past five years.
In five games this season, Johnson has scored three rushing touchdowns, averaging 4.5 yard per carry. He’s fumbled three times, losing one. The earliest that he will take the field again is in week 11. However, with other charges pending, the running back could be out longer.
