Boundary refers to the edge or end of the playing field and is marked with a rope or fence. A ball that is hit by the batsman and crosses this boundary is also referred to as a boundary. The shot is awarded 4 runs if it bounces inside the boundary before crossing it and 6 runs if it crosses the boundary without coming in contact with the ground after being hit by the batsman.
