Bouncer

rules

Bouncers are a type of delivery bowled by a fast bowler. The ball is pitched short and bounces high to the batsman’s head or chest level. Bouncers are bowled to intimidate and force the batsman to play on the back foot and prevent him from hitting shots and scoring runs. As these deliveries can be dangerous causing injuries to the batsman if one hit him, the frequency of a bouncer is governed under the laws of cricket.
