Batting average is a term used in cricket statistics which depicts the ability or performance of a batsman. The batting average of a player is calculated by dividing the total number of runs scored by the player with the total number of times he has been out. A batting average of above 50 is considered exceptional while a specialist batsman should average between 30 and 50.
